About
I started my career at Certn as a software reliability engineer, getting broad exposure across a modern stack — React, Node.js, Python, Django, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. Over time I earned my way into increasingly complex developer work, eventually building features across the API, integrations, and full background-check flows independently.
The work I'm most proud of is three months spent in Australia building Certn's nationally coordinated criminal history check from the ground up — solving real data-sovereignty problems, adapting a North American platform to strict Australian data residency requirements, and navigating an entirely new regulatory landscape. I owned it end to end.
I've also invested seriously in AI-assisted engineering: pairing one-on-one with principal and senior engineers to learn where it accelerates real work, where it misleads you, and how to avoid the common pitfalls. It's now a genuine part of how I build.
I'm open to intermediate full-stack or backend roles — particularly at companies doing meaningful work in defense, aerospace, or high-growth tech.

- Architected and delivered Australia's Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, leading a 2-engineer team to ship in 2 months against a 3-month deadline — opening APAC as a net-new revenue region.
- Built a Criminal Record Check observability tool on AWS CloudWatch surfacing hidden failures across ~10,000 impacted monthly orders (~$200K–$300K in revenue at risk), eliminating escalations in 99% of cases.
- Cut CI/CD regression runtime from 35 to 8 minutes (77%) by parallelizing tests across three deployment regions, recovering an estimated ~$81K/year in engineering time.
- Engineered a DSAR-compliant data deletion pipeline (Django ORM, Redis, PostgreSQL) processing a ~1.8M record backlog off-hours with zero production disruption.
- Owned incidents end-to-end across a 30+ service, multi-region AWS environment in a formal on-call rotation, covering ~100,000 monthly orders.

A bare-metal media automation stack on Ubuntu, integrating Radarr, Sonarr, Prowlarr, and Deluge with full inter-service networking, permissions, and process management for persistent uptime.

A searchable bar recipe app built with Next.js and deployed to GitHub Pages — replacing the flip-through-a-paper-book workflow with instant filtering during service.
